So why haven't we had U2, Linkin Park, Muse, Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tori Amos, Norah Jones etc… in Lebanon? Inno Why not? Can someone explain why? Do they charge that much? Why not make a huge festival during the summer for only a certain type of music, Alternative music or Rock music whatever you want to call it, and it would be of an international level. Come on, do a market study, are you telling me we cannot attract visitors from the Arab World? Seriously? [...]
Dinner in the Sky – Now in Beirut (+961)
I got the photos below from the launching of the not-so-new dining concept that was lately introduced to the snobbish people of Lebanon, a dinner in the sky. This dining experience consists of a 22 guests table that goes up to 50 meters in the air (with the aid of a crane of course) along with three staff members, the waiter, the chef and an entertainer, to enjoy a magnificent view of the city while having your dinner. Nowadays, or rather nights, there are hotdog stands named after all the one- or two-syllable americanish traditional names. Some are indeed named after their owners, like Freddy’s Hotdog, but others, I’m not so sure about. A friend had confirmed his attendance to an event happening in almost two months that would bring the famous RnB star Usher to Lebanon. Curious, I clicked on the page to see the details, and it was everything you would normally expect for such events: promises that it would be like “nothing you’ve ever seen before,” the fancy location, the flashy organizers, the sponsors, and most importantly, the ticket prices.
