LeBron James is "taking his talents" to Miami

MIND SOUP : "The Decision" has finally been made: LeBron James is joining D-Wade and CB4 in Miami! On July 8th at 9:00 PM Eastern Time, LeBron James announced on an ESPN special that he will join his fellow Olympic '08 teammates Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh on the Miami Heat . The ESPN special, titled "The Decision", was a one hour special held in Greenwich, CT where its proceedings will go back to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Akron, Cleveland, Chicago, Miami, and New York. James and Bosh, both brought in through sign-and-trade deals with their former clubs, took a 15 million dollar discount by signing $110.1 million over 6 years. Wade took the larger discount and signed a $107.5 million over 6 years as well with clauses that they can return to being free agents in 2014 and have player options for the 2015-2016 season. The bird, called AJ, can be seen putting a golf ball, slam dunking a basketball and performing gymnastic routines. Thousands of fans have watched the sporting all-rounder demonstrate his prowess in a one minute 14 second clip on video sharing website YouTube. The green and yellow parrot's personal trainer offers encouragement from the sidelines with comments such as "good bird" and "good job." And the bird psyches himself up for the challenge by repeating: "Put the ball in the basket. Put the ball in the basket." What's the ideal gift for a basketball-obsessed president? Try a size 23 sneaker personally autographed by Shaquille O'Neal. The Phoenix Suns center couldn't be around himself when President Barack Obama arrived at Sky Harbor International Airport Tuesday afternoon. So when the president stepped off of Air Force One, Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon's son Jake made the presentation at the foot of the stairs. The orange-and-white sneaker made a big impression. Obama set it on the ground next to his own, much smaller shoe, and grinned as photographers captured the moment. Then Obama scooped it up and took it with him as he stepped into the presidential limo. In Sunday's NBA All-Star game, O'Neal shared MVP honors with Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers.
