This year's Grammy Awards will reflect the loss of a key component in the music industry…the King of Pop. Producer Ken Ehrlich told ET's Kevin Frazier all about the Michael Jackson tribute that show organizers have up their sleeves. Inspiration for the tribute blossomed from a meeting between Ken and Michael just one day prior to the pop star's untimely death. During their encounter, Ken was treated to sneak peek at the 3D spectacle Michael had planned for "Earth Song" during his highly-anticipated tour. Neil Patrick Harris wants you to know Carrie Underwood is “awesome.” “This week’s awesome guest star,” he wrote on his Twitter page, linking to this photo of himself with the country superstar on the set of How I Met Your Mother. “HIMYM – You’ll Love The Way We Fly!” In an episode scheduled to air in March, Underwood is set to play Tiffany, an enigmatic pharmaceutical sales rep and love interest for Ted (played by Josh Radnor) on the show, which recently celebrated its 100th episode. On this day, 5 years ago, two friends of mine who happen to be sisters passed away because of a car accident. So today, we remember them and ask God to bring peace and solace to their families and those who love them. R.I.P Sabine and Nadine.

I think I'll be shot for this but here it goes.. I've been obsessing over this song since it got released a week ago. Awesome stuff. It's tearing up the country charts by debuting at #26 on Billboard after just 4 days of airplay (with 3 more days, it would have broken Carrie's record for highest debut for a female artist). The Academy of Country Music revealed its nominees for album of the year on Thursday morning (March 5) in Nashville. The nominees include Jamey Johnson's That Lonesome Song, Montgomery Gentry's Back When I Knew It All, George Strait's Troubadour, Taylor Swift's Fearless and Carrie Underwood's Carnival Ride . Although the rest of the nominees were announced on Feb. 11, the album nominations were delayed due to a revision in the qualifications. Previously, albums had to sell 300,000 copies to be considered, but that is no longer the case. The ACM Awards will be held in Las Vegas on April 5. Meanwhile, voting for Entertainer of the Year will begin starting March 16th. A follow-up post about the vote will be made.

For the first time in her career, Carrie Underwood will compete for the top prize of country music, entertainer of the year, at the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. The ceremony will air live from Las Vegas on April 5 on CBS. McEntire, who was raised in Chockie, will host the show for the 11th time. Historically, female artists rarely have won or been nominated for entertainer of the year. The Dixie Chicks were the last women to win the honor in 2000. If Underwood wins, she will be just the seventh female artist to do so. Underwood, who took home a Grammy for best country vocals for "Last Name", also is nominated for top female vocalist, a title she has won the past two years, and video of the year for "Just a Dream.” "I am so humbled and blessed with the recognition of these nominations by my fellow artists and the country music community,” Underwood said in a statement.
