Happy 3rd Birthday to Mind Soup!

Who's gonna get me a cupcake? This week, Mind Soup turns three, though it seems that I have been blogging for a much longer time. It has been a great year for the blog; featured several times in print and on Al Jazeera as well as cited in several studies and MBA thesis projects so I'm proud :') I'd love to thank all my readers especially my friends who have always shown great support in my blog and kept it going even when I had absolutely no time to update it. At the beginning of this year, I was thinking that this would be the last year for the blog but with all this encouragement and exposure, I just couldn't retire it. Yesterday, Mind Soup's facebook page  received its 1000th like, and that is possibly the best birthday present :) So here's to many years to come and may you always come back and find fresh posts!

Mind Soup celebrates its second birthday!

Yesterday, Mind Soup has turned two years old. I can't really believe it. It still seems like yesterday when I spontaneously decided to start a blog and worried about design layouts and content. Now, after two full years I stand proud of my commitment to my blog and it subsidiaries. This year has brought a lot of accomplishments which include: having the great Daisy join in and continuously post about her experiences and opinions being featured in several newspaper and magazine articles both online and offline. being the first google search for several articles. 300,000 hits on several pages integrating with several social media sites such as facebook and twitter recently creating a supplementary tumblr page giving me the inspiration to establish Online Collaborative and enriching my interest in social marketing. being known as a relevant source of news and opinion articles and a place where freedom of speech is exercised Even though this year has also...

Mind Soup Celebrating its one year anniversary.

When You’re Older You’ll Understand

Three years old he was that day. A party for him, he was surprised. Preschoolers were festive desiring the creamy toffee cake, running hyper, being silly. His hands brushing his ginger curly hair, he adjusted his goofy glasses glaring across with dopey eyes, his mouth watering for a velvety chocolate treat. He wanted the big piece; after all, he was the prince that day. Much more is what he got, what happened to him he didn't anticipate. He saw a Barbie approaching him, her golden hair tied in a bun. He stared into her sapphire eyes, he was staring into a cloudless sky that was reflecting onto her dress. A soft peck, she landed on his cheek. A tingly feeling from her cloud lips, made him smile; it was something he hadn't felt before. His grin slowly disappeared. He was very righteous he felt muddled. His eyes strayed away glancing at his mom, her witty smile blossomed as if telling him: when you're older you will understand.

Twenty flowers for a Ghost

This post is dedicated to my family and my friends who I also consider them my second family. So... in two hours, I say good bye to the last of my teen years. I never thought it will be so emotional to grow up. It has never occurred to me that these two hours will be as hard as they actually are. I know I shouldn't be writing this, and study instead for my huge final tomorrow, but I don't really want to spend these last to hours studying. I just wish I was with my family right now. Tomorrow marks half of my youth. You do not realize this until you hit the mid-point, and sometimes you don't even realize this until its too late. Today marks the last day of my past, the last days for me as a ghost. Today marks the last day of me observing this world, and start taking action. These twenty years, I've been running from something, down a road that's leading nowhere. I am a ghost haunting a house, haunting your dreams, haunting my life. Its feels like a ship I'm sinkin...

March 1st,1989 Memorial

Today, wow, yes today. today is my birthday, today will be ending in less than 2 hours and the memory will slowly fade away of the day i turned 20. how do i feel? well honestly. its a mixture of emotions...sometimes happy other times confused...and other other times trying to understand me. i celebrated my bday hardcore yesterday, at a mexican resto then went on to end the nite with a night of hardpartyin at LCLUB...it was fun..lots of fun..bt there was heartache involved...and no i will not speak of it. for i wish to surpass it, ignore it, defeat it. but i am doubtful...why? because i am sometimes afraid of the unknown and the fact that at this moment i cannot grasp facts nor assurances wht so ever. but oh well, it is my 20th year of existence on this earth. :) and 20 long fruitful, amazing, disappointing, tutoring years have they been... i still look the same, 2 legs , 2 arms, a neck eyes nose lips...etc..the whole package..nothing has changed...so why am i so fearful wen it comes to...
