So Nokia have unleashed an “App Patrol”, a group of dedicated “Smartphone law” vigilantes who don’t take application matters lightly. These patrols will be on the lookout for the most serious Nokia application offenders, ready at the drop of an app to arrest and fine these violators! Keep an eye out for the App Patrol as they have planned raids at universities, malls, cafés, cinemas and other application offender hotspots in Beirut. Fairuz MIND SOUP : News of Fairuz, the famous Lebanese legend, being banned from singing in Lebanese territory has emerged to the news scene recently, and it has been discussed on several sites and blogs. As the usual hype surrounding celebrities is filing the place, it seems that many fans of Fairuz are angry and disappointed about such news, and instinctively taking her side. However, what they don't know or don't care about is that Fairuz is violating Lebanese law by signing songs from plays that are copyrighted, without sharing the profits with the rightful owners. The Rahbani sons have launched a lawsuit against Nohad Haddad (Fairuz) because she is unwilling to share the profits of her concerts (that she sings copyrighted songs from plays) with the copyright holders. To whom it may concern, It seems that there is a common misconception going on on campus and elsewhere that I am the hidden person behind " The Worst of AUB " blog that contains criticizing articles, photos and videos about AUB. This is to denounce any involvement in the creation, publishing or maintaining the mentioned blog. Yesterday, I received an e-mail from the administrator of the blog "AUBite" who wishes to remain anonymous (I don't blame him/her). The purpose of this e-mail was only to request publishing rights of one of my copyrighted articles , which I granted.
